Prince’s death 10 years later, as stunning autopsy details emerge

According to the medical examiner, Prince had ingested fentanyl in amounts consistent with excessive use.

The drug, commonly prescribed for severe chronic pain, is typically reserved for patients who have developed a tolerance to weaker opioids.

RadarOnline.com can reveal after reviewing Prince’s autopsy files. Investigators also noted that the little artist had suffered from debilitating hip problems for years and was often seen using a cane.

It was widely reported that he required a double hip replacement before his death – a procedure he reportedly declined because it could have required a blood transfusion, which conflicted with his beliefs as a Jehovah’s Witness.

He died just one day before he was scheduled to meet with a doctor in an effort to address an opioid addiction.

A police source said at the time: “The test results raise more questions than they answer. While investigators are keeping an open mind about the cause of his death, there has long been suspicion that it was drugs.

‘Now that it has been determined that it was fentanyl, the trail really begins to find out who supplied it. Was that legal or illegal? Was it a doctor or a dealer who fueled his habit?’
