Prince William skips Kate Middleton’s family fun to play with the dog instead
The Princess of Wales’ brother further revealed: ‘It helped, of course, that William was so genuinely fond of Ella. When he first met her as a little puppy in Bucklebury, he was in love. He had a black Labrador, Widgeon, as a boy, and when Wigeon died he left an empty space. I felt William longing for a dog when Ella was around.
The author also told how one January he flew to the British royal family’s winter estate, Sandringham, in Norfolk, for Princess Kate’s birthday party.
Pippa Middleton41, accompanied James on the overnight flight from France, and despite having done so met the monarch a few times before he wrote that he was more afraid than usual to meet Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in her private home.
