And in a new interview The Daily Show with JJ Chalmers“ The one fell on Friday, February 14, the Duke of Sussex shared why he believes that the event is just as important as always 11 years after the debut.
“It seems that there is always a need for these games,” Harry, 40, told Host Chalmers. “It was naive to assume – or hope – that the games would not be necessary for a little longer than those three years to help everyone from the back of the conflicts of Iraq and Afghanistan.”
The event has continued to grow since the first iteration in March 2014, with around 400 competitors from 13 countries. In 2025 there are a maximum of 550 people from more than 20 countries that participated in the Invictus games, which are held in Vancouver and Whistler from 8 to 16 February.
“I think now that we have grown to 23 countries, inevitably, even if you only have five percent of those competing countries in one or another form of a conflict, then you will stay … you will need the games,” Harry explained out.
The Duke added that his greatest care is maintaining the momentum and continuing to help the soldiers and women as soon as the physical event is over.

Harry, who had been in the British forces for 10 years, continued with the importance of the feeling of community and comrades that is located in the Invictus games that continue in the daily life of the participants.
“I am comforted to know that so many of the countries have implemented this post-games program to come together again, to talk about the games, talk about where you are now and to continue that community And that support and network because many of these partners are really worried, “said Harry.
He continued: “This is an amazing high, but does everything go back to what it was before? The answer is that I can’t promise that it won’t do that. You can’t promise that nor the individuals can do themselves, but we hope from these last 10 days that some of the experiences and some of the new support they might have gained and the new stories and experiences they ‘Ve is now is now Part of them, they can hold that. ‘
