Prince Andrew Scandal bursts out as queen accused of ‘cover-up’

“These taxpayers funded by the taxpayer were often used for his own business interests,” said Lownie. “The pure brutality of it shocked me. The cover-up from the palace was amazing.”

Lownie further claims that the queen not only ignored these transactions, but let them continue actively. “I originally thought she put her head in the sand. But I believe more and more that she knew it and allowed it to happen,” he theoretized.

Lownie contrasts the attitude of the deceased prince with that of King Charles and Prince William, who, according to him, have a clearer picture of Andrew’s mistakes.

The book also dives into Andrew’s controversial friendship with Epstein, the accused financier accused of sex trade, who claims Lownie, was invited to royal houses, including Windsor and Balmoral.

“Andrew gave Epstein respectability. Epstein opened doors for Andrew to meet people he might not have met,” said Lownie.

This friendship eventually led to the removal of Andrew from official royal tasks and stripped of his right to use the HRH title.

Lownie suggests that Andrew’s dependence on such controversial figures comes partly from loneliness, and notes that the prince has few good friends and usually transactional relationships.

Ghislaine Maxwell, the prison of Epstein, Mrs. and Fixer, would also have had an intimate relationship with Andrew, who often visits and stays overnight at Royal Residences.
