‘Pitch Perfect’ TV series in the Make under Elizabeth Banks UTV -Deal

Elizabeth Banks and Max Standman’s Brownstone Productions has concluded a first-look deal with Universal Television (UTV), Variety has learned exclusively.
The company was previously set up under a general deal at Warner Bros. Television. Under the deal, Brownstone TV series will develop and produce with UTV on all platforms. In addition, Brownstone Anna Hughes has promoted to vice -president and Kristen Spence to creative executive.
“Brownstone Productions came for the first time from the original swamps of universal photos, so it is not logical that our next evolutionary jump is happening with universal television. We are delighted to continue to grow with such a fantastic team and deeply grateful for Donna, Pearrena and in it for their support. We do our best to make the right amount proud of the road.”
Brownstone currently has two projects in development with UTV for Peacock. First, there is the comedy “Pitch Perfect: K-Pop Idols.” Coming from the writer Joel Kim Booster, the logline states that the show “follows a wrestling singer-songwriter whose life is completely upside down when she notices that she is doing an audition to be part of the first All-American K-pop Group.”
This marks the latest TV extension of the film franchise “Pitch Perfect”, of which Banks and Handelman are integral parts. Peacock has previously broadcast the TV series “Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin” with Adam Devine in the lead role, which repeated his role from the films.
Banks and Handelman will produce Executive “Pitch Perfect: K-pop idols”, together with Paul Brooks and Scott Niemeyer for Gold Circle Films. Jason Moore will lead and executive products. Brownstone and Gold Circle all produced the films in the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, where benches “pitch perfect 2” directed and appeared on the screen in all three films. Moore directed the original film.
Brownstone also develops the “Crush” series by writer and executive producer Addison McQuigg in Peacock. The show would be inspired by the 1995 episode of “The Jenny Jones Show” entitled “Revealing Shex Secret Crushes.” The logline states that it is “set in the insane world of tabloid talk shows, and a moving story of ambition, heart disease and murder.”
Banks and Handelman are once again executing producers together with Patrick MacManus and Littleton Road Productions, Elliot Page and Matt Jordan Smith for Pageboy Productions and and Joshua Beirne-Golden. UTV and UCP will co-produce.

Brownstone has a long history with NBCUIversal, including the first look deal of the company with Universal Pictures. All three films “Pitch Perfect” from Universal Pictures, where the franchise has yielded more than $ 1 billion at the Global Box Office.
