PBS Kids Sets Videogameplay Walkthroughs Show

Record from Gen Alpha’s Obsession with video game-Walkthrough content on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch, PBS Kids is about to launch a TV series aimed at the digital activity entitled “Odd Squad Gaming Unit” (Osgu).

Produced by Fred Rogers Productions and Sinking Ship Entertainment, “Osgu” is described as “a partially scripted 4-7 minutes gameplay series organized by two agents from the ‘Odd Squad’ Universe, Oaklynn and Olindo.”

“In every episode they organize the show of different ODD Squad districts and communicate via two video chat windows, giving each other the most out of a game from the PBS Kids universe,” is the description of the series. “The core of the show is the hosts who treat each other, play and respond to both the game and each other.”

Collected by PBS Kids per data, Gaming content remains one of the most popular types of video on YouTube for children, with 50% of the PBS viewers aged 3-8 to view gameplay videos. But, according to the Common Sense Media, one in four of those videos that children aged between eight and younger watch is actually intended for older target groups. Launch of 5 September, “Osgu” is intended as a “safe”, before the age of the content for this content.

“Osgu”, which focuses on the basic principles of problem solution with each game played, will contain a rotating line -up of the more than 375 free, educational PBS kids games, including “Wild Kratts”, “Arthur” and “Lyla in the loop.”

“At PBS children we know that the more ways to deal with our content, the more they learn, and that is why gaming has been a crucial part of our multiplatform -content for more than 25 years,” said PBS Kids Senior Vice President and General Manager Sara Dewitt. “In a room that is full of junk, we are proud to continue building on our safe, high -quality offers to children, and they continue to meet where they are in this always evolving media landscape.”
