Patriots’ Stefon Diggs isn’t ruling out proposing to Cardi B after the Super Bowl

Stefon Diggs wants to win his first ring when his New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks in this year’s Super Bowl, but the wide receiver could soon be handing one out too.

“It might be on the agenda, right?” Diggs, 32, said in a press conference on Monday, Feb. 2, when he was asked if he plans to propose to his girlfriend Cardi B. “But I have to get mine first.”

The Patriots are underdogs against the Seahawks in the upcoming Sunday, February 8, game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating whether Diggs will get down on one knee immediately after the game amid a possible post-game celebration. His statement to reporters won’t do much to quiet the chatter.

Cardi, 33, was previously married to rapper Offset from 2017 to 2023 and the two share three children.

Cardi B cheers on her boyfriend, New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, from afar. In an Instagram Story shared on Sunday, January 18, Cardi B, 33, screamed and said, “Let’s go Diggs! Let’s go right now! I’m not playing!” She then shared a photo of Diggs, 32, kissing her head, writing: […]

Although Diggs wouldn’t commit to a gameday proposal, Cardi was by Diggs’ side — and on the court — during the New England playoffs. She even answered questions from NFL Network after the Patriots routed the Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game.

“I’m very excited and very happy for him, very proud of him,” she said at the time. “He just came back from an ACL and I saw the progress and the process.”

Diggs played just eight games in 2024, his lone season with the Houston Texans, before tearing his ACL in October. He signed a three-year contract with the Patriots after the season.

Cardi also praised her friend’s work ethic.

“It’s not like, ‘Oh, you wake up and you’re great,’” she said. “It’s discipline. It’s going to bed early, it’s waking up early, it’s not missing a single day of work, nothing.”

Diggs and Cardi were first linked in October 2024, but didn’t confirm their relationship until the following summer. The couple welcomed their first baby together in October 2025.

“My life has always been a combination of different chapters and different seasons,” Cardi wrote via Instagram at the time. “My last chapter was the beginning of a new season. Starting over is never easy, but it has been so worth it! I brought new music and a new album into the world! A new baby in my world, and one more reason to be the best version of me, one more reason to love me more than anything or anyone so I can continue to give my babies the love and life they deserve.”

Cardi has also supported Diggs during his recent legal troubles, when he was charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and assault and battery following an alleged incident in December 2025 involving his former personal chef.

Stefon Diggs is known for his role as a wide receiver for the New England Patriots and as a friend of Cardi B. Diggs was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2015 after playing college football at the University of Maryland. He was traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2020, where he remained until 2024. Diggs has denied the allegations against him and his arraignment, originally scheduled for January 23, has been rescheduled for after the Super Bowl.

“Stefon Diggs categorically denies these allegations,” his attorney said David Meier said in a statement to We weekly in December. “They are unsubstantiated, uncorroborated and never investigated – because they did not occur. The timing and motivation for making the allegations is crystal clear: they are the direct result of a financial dispute between employee and employer that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction. Stefon looks forward to establishing the truth in a court of law.”
