Patrick Mahomes Sr.’s traffic stop captured on police video in June
TMZ Sports obtained police video of Patrick Mahomes Sr.‘s traffic stop in June … and unlike his February run-in with police, it all seemed to go smoothly for Chiefs star’s father Patrick Mahomes II.
We told the story…Mahomes Sr. was persuaded around 8:30 PM on June 29 in Tyler, Texas – less than five months after he was arrested for DWI in the same city – after claims he had committed a traffic violation.
Surveillance video shows that after an officer stopped him… Mahomes Sr. was surprised to learn that he had apparently violated traffic laws.
“Oh,” you hear Mahomes Sr. saying in the video, “is it a no-go zone?”
A few seconds later he handed his information to an officer, but the officer soon noticed something was wrong.
The officer can be heard on the footage telling Mahomes Sr. that his driver’s license is “ineligible.” He later reiterated, “It doesn’t qualify.”
Mahomes Sr. was ultimately cited for driving with an invalid license and given a warning for ignoring traffic signs. Then he was told he was free to go.
Of course, it was all a completely different scene than when he was arrested on February 3 on suspicion of driving under the influence.

During that incident images from the police showed the elder Mahomes repeatedly trying to use his son’s name to get out of trouble — though it didn’t work and he was still thrown behind bars.
Mahomes Sr. has since then closed both cases … and told reporters in September that he had stopped drinking.
