Patricia Arquette on the leading role in Murdaugh Murders

After the conclusion of season 2 “Severance”, Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette Maggie Murdaaugh will portray in the upcoming Hulu series “Murdaugh Murders.” For Arquette it is a story that “always” has been fascinating.

“To marry someone who in fact turns out to be a malignant narcissist, is so interesting for me,” Arquette said Variety During the “Severance” season 2 FYC event on Saturday in Los Angeles. “The way they have this kind of enchanted life together and how completely destroyed everything became. It was such a sad, bad American story.”

The series is based on the reporting of journalist Mandy Matney, maker of the podcast “Murdaugh Murders”, and will revolve around the powerful Murdah family accused of fraud and murder. Arquette’s character, Maggie Murdaugh, was found dead together with her son, Paul Murdaugh, in 2021. While he plays a character such as Maggie, Arquette proves more a big challenge, Arquette is more interested in capturing ‘the essence’ of every person she plays.

“How much do we participate in our own deception, our own self -deception? How do we explain things and we apologize and think people will change,” Arquette said. “That whole dynamic does not always end in murder, but it is a real destructive dynamic and I think it is a common dynamic … [Maggie] Loved her children so much, but it is like a frog in a pot that slowly cooks. She was so normalized on this kind of extraordinary behavior. “

Jason Clark also comes into the cast as Alex Murdaugh, together with J. Smith-Cameron, Johnny Berchtold, Gerald Mcraney, Will Harrison, Brittany Snow, Noah Emmerich, Kathleen Wilhoite and Tommy Dewey.
