Parker Posey on her ‘White Lotus’ accent and Blackpink’s Lisa
Parker Posey explains how she came up with the much -striking southern draw that she uses as Violet Ratliff in the third season of ‘The White Lotus’.
Violet is the pill-hugging matriarch of a rich family on holiday in North Carolina at the location of the Posh Resort with her husband (Jason Isaac) and three children (Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook).
Posey says that her exaggerated accent is inspired by her own southern roots – she grew up in Mississippi – as well as ‘the official prepy manual’. ‘Do you know who James Spader is, the snob? I wanted to bring like a snot -like effect, “Posey told me 3 -premiere of the series in Los Angeles during the season and added:” I have met a number of really rich people and southern people who are almost affected, so that’s what I am did. ”
She continued: ‘It was so much fun to play. It is the theatricality of southern people. I come from the south, so I was so happy to bring that kind of drama from Tennessee Williams, “cat on a hot tin roof.” It’s just That lady. It was great. “

Posey also spoke about working with Lisa van Blackpink, who makes her acting debut in “The White Lotus” as a member of the hotel staff. Posey admits that she was not familiar with the singer before they worked together. ‘I didn’t know [her]But the butlers in the four seasons were Gobsmacked. They were like: “If I could see Lisa,” said Posey.
Towards the end of filming, Parker and co-star Natasha Rothwell started eating with some of the butlers. “Lisa happened to get a massage,” said Parker. “I texted her assistant and I got Lisa to come there and she came by and took a photo. She is huge in Thailand. She is such a beauty. “
