Pamela Anderson Responds to Oscars Snub: ‘I Couldn’t Imagine It’
Pamela Anderson weighs in after missing out on an Oscar nomination.
The actress, 57, received widespread praise for her performance in The last showgirl. Still, she was missing in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category when the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were announced on Thursday, January 23.
According to Anderson, the rejection wasn’t really a surprise.
“Oh my god, this is not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the victory,” she said Elle.com after the nominations were announced Thursday. “That’s what I love to do, and I think sometimes we can lose sight of that in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus.”
Despite missing out on an Oscar nod, Anderson was recognized with nominations for The last showgirl at the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
‘I couldn’t imagine it [it] Anyway. I am happy with the SAG nomination [voted on by] your peers. That’s really cool,” Anderson told the outlet.

Baywatch icon Anderson has received top reviews for her role as Shelly, an aging Las Vegas showgirl, in the film Gia Coppola-directed film.
