‘Outlander’ sets final season release date at Starz

The eighth and final season of ‘Outlander’ has set its premiere date on Starz.
The highly anticipated final season of the beloved drama series will debut on March 6, 2026, Starz announced Friday. New episodes will be available to stream weekly on Fridays via the Starz app and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms.
The description of the final season reads as follows:
“As season eight begins, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) soon discover that the war has followed them home to Fraser’s Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and prospered in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made in their absence, the Frasers are faced with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. As the Frasers form a united maintaining a front against the outside world Invaders and family secrets finally exposed threaten to tear them apart from within. Although they have left the war for American freedom behind them, their battle for Fraser’s Ridge has only just begun.’
Along with Heughan and Balfe, the series’ cast includes Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as Young Ian Murray, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom and Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Murray.
Matthew B. Roberts, Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Andy Harries, Jim Kohlberg, Balfe and Heughan serve as executive producers for “Outlander,” produced by Sony Pictures Television.
The world of ‘Outlander’ continues even as the main series comes to an end. Earlier this year, Starz debuted the prequel “Outlander: Blood of My Blood,” which was renewed for a second season ahead of the first season’s premiere.
