OurAfrica.travel announces new partnership with a purpose | News

OurAfrica.Travel is Africa’s only digital trade fair and since its inception during the 2020 lockdown, it has been about collaborations and partnerships in the spirit of Ubuntu – driven by the desire to support the greater good of the entire African tourism community in an affordable, inclusive way.

The show, which will be in its seventh edition in March 2026, has always had the ethos of giving back at its core. Each year, exhibitors are encouraged to “nominate a good cause” – be it a community or conservation cause.

The benefits of a nomination were two-fold: a chance for these charities to showcase their impact on a global stage, as well as the chance to win a cash donation, in two categories, namely community and conservation.
For 2026, an exciting new partnership with Africa’s Eden means these two like-minded organizations will formally align their efforts. All nominations are now vetted by sustainability experts and shortlisted through Eden’s established Community & Conservation network in Africa. This ensures greater transparency and a focus on documented, measurable impact on the ground, rather than just collecting votes.

To formalize this partnership, charities will only be considered for the nomination shortlist if they tick all of the following boxes:

● they are locally led,

● they are legally registered non-profit organizations (NPOs)

● be able to provide a copy of their annual report

● need to demonstrate how a tourism company can support them in two ways other than through cash donations, i.e. conservation training or building schools, etc.

All eligible charities must apply directly via the website. Any additional questions should be directed to African Eden’s Conservation & Community Impact Lead, Melissa Foley [email protected].

For 2026, one nominated charity in each category will each receive a donation of R20,000 (USD 1200).

To date, a total of R100,000 has been donated by OurAfrica.Travel to a number of different charities, including ForRangers, Mukambi Community School in Zambia, How Many Elephants’ World Female Ranger Week, Foxes’ Community and Wildlife Conservation Trust, Parco and the Chigamane School in Mozambique.

There is still time to register as an exhibitor, buyer or media/travel journalist via https://ourafrica.travel. Registrations will probably close on March 3, 2026.
