Oscar Nuñez joins the spider -offshow ‘The Office’, repeating Oscar
Oscar Nuñez returns as Oscar Martinez in the follow-up series from Peacock to ‘The Office’, Variety has confirmed.
Sources say that Nuñez will not be a main character in the upcoming Mockumentary Sitcom – who takes place in the same universe as ‘the office’ – because it is an ensemble series. But he is part of the character mix of the show and is in the opening script from the start.
There are no further details about Oscar’s role or storyline in the new show, which creates Greg Daniels and produces executive with Michael Korman (“Nathan for you”).
From now on, Nuñez is considered the only “office” Castlid that will appear in the follow-up series (currently still referred to as the “titllless Daniels/Korman Project”)-but it was noted that because it was always a chance that characters could appear from the original series in the world of “The Office”.
Universal TV and representatives for Nuñez refused to comment. Sources near the production brands that, in the past, when he was asked about restarting ‘the office’, Daniels said that he had the feeling that he told a complete story for most characters – but if there was one character that he would like to visit and explore again, it would be Oscar. (It is believed that producers hoped to keep Nuñez’s involvement a surprise, but the news leaked the interior for the first time on Wednesday via the newsletter.)
The series, who is said to be entitled ‘The Paper’, will follow the staff members of a dying Midwestern -newspaper whose publisher tries to breathe new life with voluntary reporters. It will be ‘filmed’, by the same documentary crew that the Scranton branch of Dundern Mifflin has immorted in ‘The Office’ – what the connection with how Oscar can explain in the new setting.
The new show comes from Daniels, the brain behind the American office and Koman. Character details are held under wraps. The series is expected to start production in July.
Employees Daniels and Koman serve as executive producers together with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who create the original British version of the series, as well as Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
Daniels opened a writer’s room in January 2024 to start working on the new iteration of ‘The Office’, which ran nine seasons from 2005 to 2013 and followed the staff employees of the Pennsylvania branch of a paper company. It played Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak, among many others, including Nuñez. The show became even more popular in its hereafter and became one of the largest streaming hits in the television.
The other credits of Nuñez include “Lucky Hank”, “Zoey’s extraordinary playlist”, “Mr. Iglesias,” “People of Earth”, and films such as “The Proposal”, “Mascottes” and “The Lost City.” He is also regularly seen as a pitchman for State Farm.
