Oscar Isaac to play Conman Juan Carlos Guzmán in ‘Stowaway’ for Apple

Oscar Isaac is set to executive products and stars in ‘Stowaway’, playing Juan Carlos Guzmán, who is internationally recognized as the ‘Greatest Conman Alive’.
Apple TV+ concluded a deal for the rights to the development project after a competition situation. Steven Levenson is confirmed to develop the series, set against a shimmering background of wealth and wealth, with the pilot directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon.
“Stowaway” concentrates on Guzmán, who was discovered in 1993 as a Wiel-Well-Stowaway, almost frozen on the wheels of a freight that landed in Miami. He claimed to be a 13-year-old orphan from Colombia, left without a choice than to risk a better life in America, but in reality Guzmán was 17 years old, with an aunt in Miami and a mother who was alive and worried about him in Bogota.
As the logline explains: “It was far from the last lie he would tell – or the most ridiculous.”
In the next two decades, Guzmán would gain international fame because today he became the greatest Cong who lived today. “Traveling the world and oneaa after the other, he stole millions from the rich clientele who stays with the world’s most exclusive hotels,” is the logline. “But no matter how seamlessly he could assume the identity of his victims, Juan was always fleeing – not only from Scotland Yard, the police of Las Vegas or Interpol, but he didn’t seem to escape from a past.”
Isaac will produce the project through his production company Mad Gene Media, alongside Elvira Lind and Gena Konstantinakos. Drew Comins (for Creative Engine), journalist Matthew Bremner, Lifeon and Gomez-Rejon also serve as executive producers. Fifth season will serve as the studio.
The new series marks the second big sale for Mad Gene after the upcoming drama series “Bananas”, starring Isaac and Ana de Armas and helped by David O. Russell. The high -profile project also landed at Apple at the end of last year.
Representatives for Apple refused to comment.
