Oprah Winfrey surprises Gayle King for her birthday at NYC restaurant

Oprah Winfrey And Gayle King stepped out in New York to celebrate Gayle’s 70th birthday – and Oprah gave her longtime friend a shocking surprise.

The two friends went to Ci Siamo, a popular restaurant in Manhattan… Oprah in a gold dress under a long white coat and Gayle in a more muted black and teal outfit, matching her scarf perfectly.

The two were joined by Megan Sullivanthe restaurant’s general manager, who walked into the cafe for what Gayle clearly thought was supposed to be a small dinner…although Oprah had a big surprise for her.

Winfrey posted a clip from the restaurant to her Instagram on Saturday … walking in with a distracted Gayle – when dozens of voices shouted “Surprise.”

Gayle bounces back in complete shock as Oprah laughs at her reaction… and explains in the caption that it’s hard to surprise Gayle – and their group had to tell a lot of lies to the star.

The camera turns to the room… and check out the star power — Tina Knowles, Robert DeNiro and many more bold-faced names took time to celebrate Gayle.

All of this was for Gayle’s 70th… which isn’t until December 28th – all part of the surprise, we think.

Gayle and Oprah have been friends for decades. They first met in 1976 at a local TV station in Baltimore, when Oprah was an anchor and Gayle got a job as a production assistant.
