OpenAI is practically giving ChatGPT to the government for free

OpenAi is ready to undermine rivals such as Anthropic and Google in the race to see the AI tools integrated in workflows of the federal agencies.

The AI Giant has reached an agreement With the US General Services Administration (GSA), the central purchasing arm of the government, to offer Chatgpt company to participating federal agencies for only $ 1 per agency for the following year.

The partnership comes a day after the GSA OpenAi, Google and Anthropic has added to a list of approved AI suppliers who can offer their services to civil federal agencies. The companies will see their tools that are offered via the Multiple Award schedule (MAS), a federal contract platform with which government agencies have access to AI tools through pre-negotiated contracts, so that they do not have to negotiate with suppliers individually.

Data security is a top priority for government agencies that are concerned about sensitive information that is leaked in model training sets.
