Officers await blood test results from Paul Pierce after DUI arrest

It is still not entirely clear whether Paul Pierce had alcohol in his system during his arrest last week…as TMZ Sports has learned that police are still waiting for the results of his blood test.

The NBA Legend, as you knowwas taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol on October 7 … after authorities said they found him asleep behind the wheel of his Range Rover SUV while on Highway 101 in Los Angeles.

Officers alleged that Pierce showed signs of alcohol abuse – and he was eventually arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

On Monday, a CHP spokesperson told us they have not yet received results determining Pierce’s BAC during the incident.

The representative added that “a local crime lab” is responsible for processing the sample, and a timeline for the return of the results is unknown.

As for Pierce, he seemed to deny it he was drunk during the encounter with police … and wrote in a statement on Threads on October 9 that the whole thing stemmed from him being “old” and “tired.”

“Imagine being stuck in stationary traffic for 45 minutes and falling asleep 🤦🏾‍♂️,” he wrote. “I took this photo that evening, because I have never been stuck in a traffic jam for so long.”
