‘Nobody Wants This’ Renewed for Season 2 with New Showrunners

“Nobody Wants This” has been renewed for season 2 on Netflix, Variety has confirmed this with sources.

The news comes about two weeks after the show’s premiere on the streamer, with the first season dropping on September 26. Season 2 will see new showrunners at the helm of the comedy series. Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan join the series as showrunners and executive producers. They’ve been working on heading up a writers’ room for Season 2 for the past few weeks.

Erin Foster, who created the series, will remain on board as executive producer. Along with Konner and Kaplan, Steven Levitan and Oly Obst also executive produce the series, while Bell also executive produces in addition to starring. Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk and Jeff Morton also serve as executive producers. 20e Television produces in collaboration with Steven Levitan Productions.

The series stars Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Paul Ben-Victor and Tovah Feldshuh. The official series description states:

“An agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. As they walk outside together, the unlikely couple, Joanne (Bell) and Noah (Brody), can tell there is something between them. But possibly also between them, with their different views on life, all the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families – including her sister Morgan (Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Simons).

‘Nobody Wants This’ has topped the Netflix Top 10 English-language TV charts since its launch. It opened in second place in its first few days of availability and received 10.3 million views. Netflix defines a view as the total number of hours watched divided by the total running time. The show rose to number one in its first full week of availability with 15.9 million views, knocking ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’ out of the top spot.
