The defensive lineman for the Las Vegas Raiders Charles Snowden During his DUI arrest last month, it appeared like this, with police video showing an officer thinking the football player was “too drunk to even stand.”
Snowden’s run-in with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department occurred at 11:30 PM in Sin City on December 9 … after police said they found him unconscious behind the wheel of his running Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Bodycam footage, obtained by TMZ Sportsshows that the SUV was actually balancing on a retaining wall… and despite multiple attempts to wake him up and get him to turn off the car, the video shows that Snowden didn’t budge.
After several minutes of knocking and screaming, Snowden finally listened to the officers, turned off his car and got out. But look at the video: He seemed to have no idea what was going on.
He seemed to slur his words… and at times it seemed like he was falling in and out of sleep on the hood of a police car.
“We’re going to have to put him in the car,” said one officer, “because he’s too drunk to even stand.”
Paramedics eventually arrived on the scene and Snowden, who was wearing a Santa hat with the Raiders team logo on it, initially told one of them he thought he was in Florida.
“Try again,” the doctor said.
Snowden was eventually taken to a hospital, but moments before he was taken away, an officer was heard on bodycam footage saying, “Yes, he smells like alcohol.”
Court records show Snowden has been charged with driving under the influence over the incident… and he’s scheduled to appear in court in the case in April.
The 26-year-old, who has played nine games for Vegas this season, has not yet publicly commented on the matter.
