NextHome joins the list of companies to settle the commission lawsuits
The James Dwiggins-led company NextHome is the latest real estate brokerage to settle the commission lawsuits. The company notified the court Tuesday of its settlement agreement in the consolidated Gibson and Umpa lawsuits through a letter filed last week.
The filing does not say how much NextHome has agreed to pay or what, if any, changes to business practices it will make. Additionally, there was no indication when the settlement would receive preliminary or final approval.
NextHome joins us The Keyes Co., HomeSmart, Redfin, United Real Estate, Douglas Elliman, Real Estate One Group, At World Properties, Everywhere, RE/MAX, Keller Williams, Compass, HomeServices of America And The real real estate agency in settling committee lawsuits.
The National Association of Real Estate Agents also handled the commission lawsuits. The agreement was tentatively approved by a court in late April and will go before a final approval hearing in late November.
NextHome did not return HousingWire‘s request for comment.
