New Western CEO says that the Beat OpenDoor company as the largest homebuyer of the nation in Q2 2025

“This milestone is not just about volume – it is about the grit, creativity and ruthless urge of a team that refuses to be delayed by the headwind of today. Instead, we have become stronger as the category leader in a part of real estate that the playbook rewrites,” Carton wrote.

In his position, Carlton fiddled with the New Western team and thanked them for “prove that the future of real estate does not have to look like the past.”

“We have a pioneer in a different kind of real estate model – a rooted in revitalizing communities, expanding the housing stock and opening the door to the possibility for thousands of local investors who literally draw up America,” he added.

New Western’s performance comes as open deals with some internal unrest. Last Friday, the old CEO of the Ibuyer and chairman of the Board Carrie Wheeler announced that she immediately resigned. The company appointed Shrisha Radhakrishna as president and interim leader.

The departure of Wheeler comes at the end of a chaotic summer for OpenDoor. In July the shares of the Ibuyer rose after being promoted by Meme Stock Subreddits. The stock of OpenDoor rose again after Wheeler had announced her departure, but it closed the day on Wednesday Down 11.05% Compared to Tuesday.

During the second quarter of 2025, Opendoor only bought 1,757 houses, with 63% compared to the year before.
