New Ted Bundy Victim Revealed After Serial Killer Killed 30 Women

Aime’s naked and beaten body was found by hikers on November 27, 1974. On Wednesday, officials revealed that they had collected DNA evidence that turned out to be a positive match to Bundy, showing “definitive proof” that he was one of his victims.

“Similarities from the evidence indicated that the manner of abuse and probable cause of death were similar to the modus operandi of Theodore ‘Ted’ Bundy,” Utah County Sheriff Mike Smith explained.

Officials used “new forensic techniques” to ultimately solve the case, as the technology allowed them to separate mixed DNA profiles to identify a male DNA profile from a fluid sample collected in the case. After adding the profile to the national database, the researchers received a ‘hit’ Florida and linked it to the serial killer.

Smith said, “With that evidence and the full support of the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, we are bringing this case to a close. And most importantly, we will hopefully bring closure to the Aime family, who have endured the loss of their loved one for more than fifty years.”
