New start: the real estate team and brokers will start in 2026

Some of the best teams and brokers in the industry have started the year with a new brokerage. Here are updates from Compass, Douglas Elliman and others.

Here are some of the biggest announcements ringing in 2026:
Compass: Fifteen-year-old indie brokerage Town Realty Chicago has joined Compass. The seven-agent team has been rebranded as Town Group, with the office serving as Compass’ first physical location on Chicago’s South Side. Team leaders Meg Mulrenin and Matt McGinnis have more than 30 years of combined real estate experience and specialize in South Side real estate, with their team recording $30 million in sales volume in 2024.
Douglas Elliman: Well-known East Coast real estate agent Heather Domi has returned to Douglas Elliman after a decade. The broker has lifetime sales volume of more than $2 billion and leads the Heather Domi team in Manhattan. Domi is a founding member and president of the New York Residential Agent Continuum (NYRAC) and helped found the first chapter of the American Real Estate Association.
Red Key Realty leaders: Industry veteran Dan Brassil has joined Red Key Realty Leaders, an indie brokerage with four locations in the Greater St. Louis area. Brassil has more than 15 years of experience with lifetime closed sales volume of $169 million.
Rodeo Real Estate: LA-based boutique brokerage Rodeo Realty has strengthened its team with the addition of five agents: Brett Kleiman, Claudio Pena, Tammy Delwarte, Viktorya Hovhannisya and Michael Ehrhart. The company has more than 1,200 agents and brokers across 12 offices in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
Side: Side has tapped Arizona real estate veteran Nick El-Tawil to serve as managing broker for the partners in the state. El-Tawil has an impressive resume, including positions at Douglas Elliman Real Estate and The Agency.
