Netflix reveals theater locations and runtime

The end is near for ‘Stranger Things’. Netflix has confirmed the theater locations where the series finale will be shown.
According to the streamer, the finale of the global hit series will be shown in more than 500 theaters in the US and Canada starting December 31 at 5 PM PT and will run through January 1, 2026. Netflix has also officially confirmed that the finale duration will be 2 hours and 5 minutes.
The full list of participating theater locations can be found here www.st5final.comwhich also includes instructions on how to respond. No tickets will be sold for the screenings, but exhibitors will sell concession vouchers that guarantee fans a seat at a screening. This way, the theater owners retain the income from the screenings. Netflix-owned theaters do not sell tickets or concession vouchers, but fans can sign up via the RSVP list.
News that the series finale would hit theaters was first announced in October, after the Duffer brothers expressed their desire to see that happen in a cover story interview with Variety. Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria had initially said this would not happen, but changed course after fans expressed a very strong desire to see the finale on the big screen.
While Netflix has released select films into theaters over the years, this will be the first time they’ve done so without recouping any box office revenue.
The first four episodes of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 are available now. The next three episodes will be released on December 25, while the finale will be released on Netflix and in theaters on December 31.
‘Stranger Things’ is one of the most popular Netflix shows of all time. As the streamer previously announced, all four previous seasons re-entered the Top 10 list before the launch of Season 5, marking the first time a series has had four previous seasons on the list simultaneously.
