Nebula movie trailer, release date

Apologies to anyone with emetophobia: Indie streamer Nebula will debut next month with director Patrick Willems’ short film “The Dinner Plan,” the story of a man (played by Griffin Newman) desperately trying not to vomit during his boss’s dinner party.
Starring Newman, John Hodgman, Miriam Shor, Zach Cherry, Eudora Peterson, Geoffrey Cantor and Cindy Cheung, the 33-minute comedy-thriller film launches on the streamer on November 26 – just in time for Thanksgiving.
According to the description of the film, directed by Willems and written by Michael Curran and Jacob Torpey, based on a story by Willems: “When pressured to attend a dinner party hosted by his boss, a man suffering from a rare food allergy must endure the most stressful night of his life with one main goal: just not to throw up in front of everyone.”
In the first trailer for Nebula’s ‘The Dinner Plan’, in which Variety can exclusively reveal via the video above, it’s made very clear that this man is not allowed to eat tomatoes under any circumstances – and yet that seems to be his hosts’ favorite ingredient all night long.
“The Dinner Plan” was produced by Dave Wiskus and Trenton Waterson of Nebula. Zara Glaze is an associate producer.
The film marks a milestone for indie streamer Nebula, a creator-owned subscription streaming platform that launched in 2019 and has been slowly expanding beyond its “edutainment” programming roots into scripted content.
YouTube and Nebula star Willems is a filmmaker and video essayist based in New York, best known for his YouTube channel on which he combines long-form film criticism and narrative storytelling. His feature film debut, ‘Night of the Coconut’, was released on Nebula in 2022.
