NCIS’ Katrina Law says Nick Torres is fueling romantic “drama” in season 22

Sonja Flemming/CBSNCIS fans are still reeling from Jessica Knight and Jimmy Palmer’s split, but their romance isn’t the only thing they’ll be focusing on in season 22.
Katrina Lawwho plays Knight is being told exclusively We weekly earlier this month that Wilmer ValderramaNick Torres is going to cause problems in his love life. “His romance is going to cause some drama,” she teased. “It’s going to be great.”
Torres revealed during Episode 3, which aired on October 28, that he pushed for the office to get a new training room, partly because he was “trying to get my mind on track.”
Torres confided to Knight at the time that he wants “to get back out there, back in the game.” He clarified that he meant the “love game” after getting his heart broken by Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) three years earlier when she abruptly left the team and ended her budding relationship with Torres. (Wickersham left the series in 2021 after eight seasons.)

“It’s been too long since I’ve had a special person in my life,” he admitted, explaining that if he wants to find someone new, “I have to bring my best self to bear.”
Brian Dietzenwho plays Palmer, hinted that Torres’ dating life is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to new flames for the NCIS team.
“There’s a little bit of romance happening — I can’t give too much away — but not just with Torres,” Dietzen, 46, told exclusively Us in a joint interview with Law, 39. “There will also be some other people on the team who might find some [romance].”
He pointed out that fans have already seen that with Leon Vance (Rocky Caroll), who revealed during season 22, episode 2 that he wanted something more serious with his long-distance partner, Lena Paulsen (Marem Hassler). “He has something he’s investigating,” Dietzen said of Vance.
“What I love about our show is that there are other TV shows or other procedurals that [are] kind of making headlines and really focusing on the case of the week, which our show does well,” Dietzen said. “But our shows are also torn from the characters. And we see how these cases impact the people who solve them.”
He added: “The heavy focus and character development [we have]it’s what keeps me going back to work. I think that’s why people keep watching this.”
When it comes to the relationship between their characters, Law and Dietzen shared Us that Knight and Palmer haven’t “slammed” the door on romance, but that it is “gently closed at this point.”
During the November 4 episode, Knight and Palmer finally spoke after breaking up at the end of season 21. While Knight hinted that she was open to getting back together, Palmer reminded her that they aren’t what the other needs right now.
“There’s definitely still looks between Jimmy and Knight. The attraction is still alive, and you know, these two are still trying each other out,” Law teased the pair. “It’s not gone.”
Dietzen noted that viewers will have to wait and see if their split is “set in stone” or if they will “return again.”
