Native American Comedy Pilot is not progressing at NBC

NBC has chosen not to continue with the comedy pilot with one cam in an Indian community center, Variety has learned.
The news comes one day after NBC has announced a series of pick -up for ‘Stumble’, a comedy that takes place in the world of competitive cheerleading that also received a pilot order earlier this year. Variety Exclusive reported that the Community Center project had received a pilot order in March.
The titll -free comedy came from writers Sierra Teller Ornelas, Jackie Keliiaa and Bobby Wilson. All three were also performing producers, with Teller Ornelas who served as a showrunner. Morgan Sackett also produced executive. Tazbah Chavez directed. Universal Television, where both Teller Ornelas and Sackett are among general deals, was the studio.
The official logline stated that the show was: “An ensemble comedy in a Native Community Center in Oakland, California. Press the employees to keep the lights while they cancel them in need.”
The cast for the pilot was Jana Schmieding, Wilson, Wes Studi, Rachel Dratch, Frankie Quiñones, Eddie Spears, Brian Bahhe and Sienna Tso.
NBC still has two open time slots on its autumn schedule at the time of this publication. With the release of their autumn schedule, NBC left open slots on both Monday and Friday from November after recurring comedies “St. Denis Medical” and “Happy’s place.” “Stumble” may take one of those places, and the network also has the comedy “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” with Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe waiting for a premiere date.
