Nancy Guthrie kidnapper left key detail on doorbell video

Nancy was last seen at her home on Saturday, February 1 at 9:45 p.m. She didn’t show up for a church livestream the next morning and was reported missing. When her family went to her house, they found her wallet, cell phone and car, but no sign of her.

Investigators immediately began reviewing footage from neighboring cameras, which Hale said should have provided some help.

“Technology, such as home security video systems, has become a great tool for researchers,” says Hale. “They will no doubt have checked every home in the neighborhoods surrounding Ms. Guthrie’s home, looking for any video that could add valuable information.”

“They will also monitor local businesses such as gas stations, convenience stores, banks, big box retailers and other businesses or establishments that may have cameras,” Hale explains.

“This may allow investigators to track suspicious vehicles in and out of the area and it also helps provide a timeline.”
