Murdaugh Murders series in Hulu Casts Noah Emmerich, Kathleen Wilhoite

The Hulu series about the notorious Murdaaugh family has added three new cast members.

Variety Has learned that Noah Emmerich (‘The Americans’, ‘Dark Winds’), Kathleen Wilhoite (‘Gilmore Girls’, ‘Pepper Ann’) and Tommy Dewey (‘Saturday Night’, ‘Casual’) are all ready for rolls in the Untitled series.

Previously announced Cast members are Jason Clarke, Patricia Arquette, J. Smith-Cameron, Johnny Berchtold, Will Harrison and Brittany Snow. The series is based on the true story of Maggie and Alex Murdaaugh, as well as the report of Mandy Matney, journalist and maker of the Podcast “Murdaugh Murders”. Clarke plays Alex, while Arquette plays Maggie. Snow will appear as Matney.

The Murdah family was powerful players in the Lowcountry region in South Caroline, with great legal and political influence. But for the majority of a decade, the family has been accused of involvement in various crimes, ranging from fraud to murder. In addition to the podcast “Murdaugh Murders”, they have been the subject of several docuseries and news specials.

Emmerich will play Randy Murdaaugh. The character is described as “Strait-Laced and through the book he is the antithesis of his wildcard younger brother Alex and in the legal profession. Their enormously different approaches have led to a lifetime of locking horns while they have jockey jockey for the affection and approval of their father Randolph.”

Wilhoite will play Gloria Sateterfield, who is said to be ‘the loyal and loving housekeeper of the Murdahs is for decades. Gloria helped to raise Buster and Paul van de Children’s shoes. Emmerich is reputed by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Wilhoite is reputed by the AKA Talent Agency. Dewey is reputed by the Kohner Agency, Anonymous Content, and Myman Greenspan.

Michael D. Fuller and Erin Lee Carr are fellow makers and executive producers in the series, with Fuller who also serves as a showrunner. Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund will produce executive under their Eat the Cat Banner, where Matney also produces executive. UCP is the studio. Antosca and Eat de Kat is currently under a general deal at UCP.
