Movistar+ reveals Pedro Almodóvar Docuseries organized by Los Javis

In June, Movistar Plus+ “Pedro x Javis”, a three -part documentary series that tributes to the life and work of the celebrated Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar. Made and organized by the celebrated filmmakers Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, locally known as Los Javis, combines the series of documentary stories with musical versions and re -conceived scenes from the films of Almodóvar in a daring new format.
The core of “Pedro x Javis” is an intimate, in -depth conversation between the three directors. Filmed for several days, their exchanges are rich in unexpected confessions, emotional memories and previously untreated insights into the creative journey of the double Academy Award winner. “I think I spoke too much,” Almodóvar gave the process.
The series contains contributions from many of the most iconic employees of Almodóvar, including actresses Penélope Cruz, Julieta Serrano, Rossy de Palma, Bibiana Fernández, Loles León, Carmen Machi, Lola Dueñas and Leonor Watling. It also contains performances by Antonio Banderas and old creative partners such as his brother and El Deseo Baas Agustín Almodóvar, Esther García, cinematographer José Luis Alcaine and composer Alberto Iglesias.
In addition to interviews, “Pedro x Javis” celebrates the legacy of Almodóvar with lively musical songs and re -enactments of his most iconic film moments. These segments contain versions of Amaia, Nathy Peluso, Guitarricadelafuente, Luz Casal, Albert Pla, Raül Refree and Antonio Banderas, who reinterpret songs from Almodóvar’s films of Almodóvar’s films in visually striking new institutions.
Tension of three episodes entitled ‘Amigas y madadt’, ‘Ley Y Deseo’ and ‘Muerte Y Cine’, explores the documentary themes that are central to Almodóvar’s work while following his journey from a young man in La Mancha to one of the most influential voices of the cinema.
The visual identity of the series is made by Ignasi Monreal, which designed the poster, credits and sets, original props and furniture from the Almodóvar films recorded.
Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, the creative duo behind ‘Veneno’, ‘La Mesías’ and ‘Paquita Salas’, serve as producers and hosts. The team also includes Brays EFE and Paloma Rando as screenwriters, Guillermo Mendo as CO director, Uri Barcelona as director of photography, Celia Cuéllar as editor, Leila Rodríguez as Art Director and Álex de Lucas as music director. Executive producers are Domingo Corral, Pilar Robla and Custodio Pastor.
Thinking about the experience, Calvo and Ambrossi shared: “It is a privilege to have developed this project, so that we can spend many hours with Pedro.
