Mormon Wives cast is confused about what was cut from the season 3 reunion

The Secret Lives of Mormon Women The cast is just as confused by what did and didn’t make it into the season 3 reunion.

Hulu released the hour-long special on Thursday, December 4, in which Jessi Ngatikaura discussed her affair with Marciano Brunette, Demi Engemann denied cheating on his husband Bret Engemann (also with Marciano) and Dakota Mortensen defended herself after sexting with Taylor Frankie Paul‘s family friend.

However, viewers quickly took to social media to express their frustration over what wasn’t covered during the reunion and how certain cast members received more attention than others. Other fans wondered how much attention was paid to Dunkin Donuts’ product placement.

Host Stassi Schroeder was the first to think more was cut, writing via Instagram, “I wish you could have seen the remaining 11 hours.”

The changes to this season’s reunion started with the host. Stassi, 37, took over Nick Vial.

During the Season 2 reunion, Nick, 45, received backlash for the way he directed his questions Whitney Leavitt about her friendship with Demi, 30, several times during the July special. He also asked Whitney, 32, if she thought she was “better than” Taylor, 31, at taking responsibility.

“No, I don’t think I’m the one to judge that,” she said, as Nick fired back, “I’m not asking you to judge it. I’m asking you what you think.”

Whitney clarified that she and Taylor are “equal” in that regard. “Equally good or equally bad?” Nick asked.

In response, Nick took a poll asking who thought Whitney was good at taking responsibility, which resulted in almost no support for her.

“It’s so ambiguous. You just sat here and asked me, ‘Do you feel like you’re justifying your actions based on your feelings?'” Whitney told Nick. “Good, [Mikayla Matthews] is someone who constantly belittles and hurts me. Is she right in her feelings to treat me that way?’

Whitney acknowledged during the reunion that she continually felt called by Nick.

“Personally, I feel like I’ve heard Taylor take responsibility for a lot of things. She does a lot of things too,” Nick responded. “I don’t think I’ve heard of you taking responsibility for what I saw.”

Nick then stood by the way he spoke to Whitney. “We’re honest that we’re fans of the show. So as a host, I tried to find that balance between obviously being a host and being objective,” he explained on the “Viall Files” podcast. “I also made sure everything was addressed.”

Although he acknowledges the awkward tension between him and Whitney, Nick has a different take on their conversation.

“I was a little surprised when Whitney didn’t like my line of questioning,” he said. “When it comes to the past two seasons, I think Whitney’s perceived lack of responsibility is something I wanted to discuss with her.”

Nick continued, “Whitney is one of my favorite characters – other than Taylor, she’s probably one of the most irreplaceable people in the cast. She’s one of my favorites.”

Before the Season 3 reunion premiered, Nick confirmed his departure as host due to his upcoming Netflix dating show Era of attractionwhich created a conflict. The Thursday special showed Zac’s wife, Jen, praising Stassi for taking over.

“I’m so glad it’s you because I know you’re totally unbiased,” Jen told Stassi, who replied, “Thank you! Well, I’ve been in your shoes!”
