Missouri woman sentenced to almost 5 years in prison for trying to sell Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Scam

A Missouri woman has been sentenced to 57 months in prison for trying to sell fraudulently Elvis Presley‘s Graceland.

Lisa Jeanine Findley54, was convicted in the federal court in Memphis, for four years and nine months behind bars for trying to use a fake company and forged documents to sell Presley’s former house.

The judge described Findley’s actions as a “wild schedule” and “very advanced”, according to WregThe local Fox station in Memphis.

When Findley was sued in August 2024, prosecutors accused her of falsely claims from Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marieborrowed $ 3.8 million from a fake particulist lender and had used Graceland as collateral for the loan before her death in January 2023.

Authorities said Findley then threatened to sell Graceland to the highest bidder if the Presley family did not pay a settlement of $ 2.85 million.

Officers of Justice accused Findley of Posing as three different people who are supposedly involved in the fake money, manufacturing loan documents and publishing a fraudulent shielding message in a Memphis newspaper in which the Graceland auction was announced in May 2024. Presley’s granddaughter has sued and a judge stopped the sale.

The Associated Press reports a public notification for the execution sale of the 13 -hectare legacy, said Promenade Trust, that the Graceland Museum checks $ 3.8 million after not repaying a 2018 loan.

Lisa Marie Presley’s daughter, Riley Keoughinherited the trust and ownership of the house after her mother’s death. Keough has filed the lawsuit that claimed fraud. The AP reports that Keough claimed in the court case that Nausany Investments presented fraudulent documents with regard to the loan in September 2023 and that Lisa Marie Presley never borrowed money from Naussany.

Findley argued guilty in February for an indictment of post -fraud with regard to the scam. She was also charged for accusation of aggravated identity theft, but the indictment was withdrawn as part of a pleid agreement.

The notary whose name was mentioned on Naussany’s documents, said that she never met Lisa Marie Presley or not noticed documents for her, according to the court case of the estate, Wowt TV reported. The judge said that the notary’s statement questioned the authenticity of the signature.

Graceland was Elvis Presley’s house before he died in August 1977 at the age of 42. It is now a museum and tourist attraction that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. On the other side of the street is an entertainment complex with a Presley theme owned by Elvis Presley Enterprises.

No stranger to the law

Findley is no stranger to the law. The judge called her criminal history, including various convictions from the mid -2000s, many in Oklahoma, according to WRT. They include obtaining money under false pretenses, including credit card and fake control costs, but the TV station reports that it has not been convicted of a crime in the past decade.

‘I don’t know what the suspect would think this [scheme] would be reached, but if it had flourished, it would have been a tragedy of justice, “said the American district judge John T. Fowlkes JR.

Findley did not speak on behalf of her during her hearing Tuesday.
