Minor Hotels Debut Anantara in the United States with Flagship Miami Development | News

Minor Hotels, a global leader in hospitality with more than 640 properties in 63 countries, announces Anantara Miami Resort & Residences, marking the highly anticipated debut of its experiential luxury brand in the United States. Rising 650 feet above Biscayne Bay, the historic development marks a defining moment for the group’s global expansion and introduces a new paradigm of urban living shaped by immersive experiences, cultural connection and holistic wellness. Developed in partnership with One Thousand Group, the 50-story tower will be located at the intersection of Miami’s Edgewater, Design District and Wynwood neighborhoods and is expected to open in 2030. This will make it the first tower in the area to offer uninterrupted views of Biscayne Bay.
The planned 50-story tower will feature 100 private branded residences and 120 resort homes, allowing owners to make their residences available to hotel guests, in addition to 50 hotel suites and a collection of unprecedented vitality and longevity amenities that will bring the principles of ancient healing and modern longevity to Miami’s urban landscape for the first time.
More than a traditional branded residence, Anantara Miami Resort & Residences is conceived as a fully integrated lifestyle destination where hospitality, private ownership and wellness will coexist seamlessly, reflecting a shift towards more flexible, experience-driven living.
William E Heinecke, Founder and Chairman of Minor International, the owner company of Minor Hotels, commented: “True luxury is time, the freedom to pause, explore and experience the world more deeply. Miami is the perfect location for the US debut of our luxury brand Anantara, and we are excited to partner with One Thousand Group to make this vision a reality.”
Guided by Anantara’s philosophy of immersive, experiential hospitality, the project is envisioned as an urban retreat that meets the growing demand for restorative urban living. A dedicated vitality center focused on movement, nutrition and recovery will anchor the experience, alongside holistic programming inspired by ancient Thai healing traditions. Bringing together age-old practices and modern approaches to longevity, the development introduces a new level of wellness offerings to Miami.
Kevin Venger, co-founder of One Thousand Group, said: “Anantara Miami Resort & Residences introduces something completely new to the US. It is not just a branded residence, but a fully realized concept that combines hospitality, private ownership and longevity in one unified experience.”
The development brings together a globally recognized design team, with architecture by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the firm behind some of the world’s most renowned and transformative skyscrapers, including One Vanderbilt in New York, in collaboration with ODP Architecture & Design, and interiors by Patricia Urquiola, marking her first residential project in the United States. Building on One Thousand Group’s track record of shaping Miami’s luxury residential landscape, the project follows developments such as One Thousand Museum, the last residential tower designed by Zaha Hadid, and Villa Miami.
Reflecting the developer’s forward-looking approach, the tower will include features such as a private rooftop helipad, enabling seamless access to destinations such as the Florida Keys, Palm Beach and the Bahamas, in addition to a curated offering of hospitality-led experiences. Located in a highly walkable neighborhood, the property offers direct access to Miami’s leading restaurants, galleries, boutiques and cultural institutions, including the Pérez Art Museum, the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
Michael Konig, co-founder of One Thousand Group, added: “Our approach has always been to anticipate where the market is going and develop buildings that don’t yet exist in Miami. With Anantara, we saw an opportunity to bring a globally respected brand to a market that is ready for something more meaningful and experiential.”
“We are focused on delivering our signature experiences and amenities while seamlessly integrating the authentic offerings of the brands we partner with,” said Louis Birdman, co-founder of One Thousand Group. “The result is a development that feels both unique and ours and stays true to the brand’s heritage.”
Sales are expected to commence later this year, with One Sotheby’s International Realty appointed as exclusive sales partner. Anantara Miami Resort & Residences represents an important step in Minor Hotels’ strategic expansion into the United States.
