Microsoft adds Anthropic’s AI to Copilot
Microsoft leans in his new partnership with the most important rival of OpenAi, Anthropic. From Wednesday, the software giant will include the AI models of Anthropic in his AI Assistant Copilot, which was previously mainly fed by OpenAi.
The deal indicates another step in the direction of the slow unhearing between the former exclusive partners, and comes a few weeks after Microsoft has closed a deal to use Anthropic AI in Office 365 apps such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Copilot Business users can choose between the deep reasoning models of OpenAi and Claude Opus 4.1 and Claude Sonnet 4 from Anthropic for help with certain tasks, such as complex examinations and helping to build adapted AI tools and business resources. Opus 4.1 is designed for complex reasoning, coding and deep architecture planning, while Sonnet 4 is better for routine developmental tasks, large -scale data processing and generating content.
