Michael J. Fox’s Death Plans Revealed During Parkinson’s Battle

The actor, who was diagnosed at the age of 29, spoke candidly about his condition in a new interview, admitting he can no longer walk safely without fear of falling. “There is no timeline for Parkinson’s disease, there is no series of stages that you go through – not in the same way as you would with prostate cancer, for example,” he explained.
“It’s much more mysterious and puzzling,” Fox continued. “Not many people have had Parkinson’s for 35 years. I just wouldn’t want to wake up one day. That would be really cool. I don’t want it to be dramatic. I don’t want to trip over furniture and smash my head.”
With characteristic humor he added: ‘That’s another thing, about dying. I just haven’t had time for it.’
People close to Fox say he has become increasingly reflective in recent months, focusing on peace and privacy rather than fear.
An old friend said: “At the end of the day, Michael doesn’t want any drama or medical heroics. He has lived his life in the spotlight and wants his death to be the opposite: peaceful, natural and on his own terms. He has accepted what is coming with incredible grace.”
