Meta’s next big bet may be humanoid robotics

Meta is a new team within its reality labs hardware division to build robots that can help with physical tasks, Bloomberg reported. The team will be responsible for developing humanoid Robotics hardware, possibly including hardware that can perform household tasks.
The new Robotics group of Meta, which is led by Marc Whitten, former CEO of the driver without a carart cruise, will also create robot software and AI, according to Bloomberg’s report. Whitten has also had stints at Amazon, Microsoft and Sonos, According to his LinkedIn profile.
To be clear, Meta’s plan is not to build a meta-brand robot not in the first instance.
