Meta dropped three new AI models in the weekend: Scout, Maverick and the still training, invoiced as the next evolution of “open-like” AI. But instead of excitement, the reaction was usually a shoulders. Critics called the Release Underwhelming and said that the lead was expected in today’s Breakneck AI race. Meta’s clear attempt to claw some attention soon became messy. Accusations began to circulate on X and Reddit around Benchmark, a mysterious former employee and large gaps between the public and private performance of the models.
