Meta is shaking up its AI org, again

On Friday The information Reported that Meta was preparing to tear his existing AI -Borg and to reorganize in four new groups. Four days later, the change was officially applied with an internal memo, as reported by Bloomberg And The New York Times. The changes were announced by Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang, who came to Meta as Chief AI officer in June.

The new meta organization for AI is called the Meta Superintelligence Labs or MSL. The center is a new group called TBD Labs, which is run by Wang. The group will focus on foundation models such as Llama Series, which had the latest release in April. The other three groups will be focused on research, product integration and infrastructure respectively.

Meta has produced considerable means in recent months to renew its AI organization in response to concern that it was surpassed by rivals such as OpenAi, Anthropic and Google DeepMind. Mark Zuckerberg has been personally involved in recruitment for the new group, per A report from Bloomberg in June.
