Meta is reportedly using actual tents to build data centers

Meta and Mark Zuckerberg are in a hurry to build their super intelligence tech. The company has AI researchers scooping, while CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Monday that Meta is building a 5 Gigawatt data center called Hyperion.
The urgency is palpable. As semianyse reported last week and business insider notedMeta is so happy to increase his computing power that it literally sets up tents for temporary data center capacity, while the facilities are still under construction.
These are all signs that Meta wants to build its AI capacity faster after they fell behind after competitors such as OpenAi, Xai and Google – and that Zuckerberg is not willing to wait for typical construction age lines to close the gap.
“This design is not about beauty or redundancy. It’s about making calculating online quickly!” Semianysis said in his report. “From prefabricated electricity and cooling modules to ultra-light structures, speed is essential because there is no backup generation (ie no diesel generators in sight),” it added.
Regarding the Hyperion datacenter, Meta spokesperson Ashley Gabriel, WAN says that it will be in Louisiana and will probably have a capacity of 2 gigawatts by 2030.
