Mercy Miller – rap legend Master P‘s son – prepares for his second season in Houston … and Cougars Legend Otis bird Expect big things from the second -year student – tell TMZ Sports“He is already something special.”
We caught up with the former all-American at Lax … and he explained that Mercy paid his contribution of head coach. Kelvin Sampson Last year, and is now better because of that.
“In the system and culture of coach Sampson you have to wait for your turn,” he said. “He had to learn the system, learn the culture. He is more difficult, he wants to be there, he wants to compete for a runway.”
“He will have a hell of a year this year. He works hard in the weight space.”
The 69-year-old went so far to call him one of the best shooters in the team … A lot of praise from one of only five players to retire their number through the cougars.
Miller saw some time on the floor as first-year students … play in 22 games in 2024-25.
We also asked Birdsong -a general pick in 1977 -his thoughts about the top man in this year’s design – Cooper Flagg – and his run in the Summer League. While he said that the former Duke star is a great talent … he wants people to delay to crown him the League MVP.
