Meliá Hotels International landmark debut in the Hungarian capital | News

Meliá Hotels International begins an exciting new chapter in Europe with the inclusion of Hotel President Budapest into its Affiliated by Meliá network from March 23. This marks the company’s debut in Hungary and opens the doors to one of Europe’s most magnetic capitals. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Budapest, the 152-room, four-star hotel is perfectly positioned just a stone’s throw from the Danube, the Parliament and St. Stephen’s Basilica, providing an inspiring gateway to the city’s cultural heartbeat.
Housed in a building with an Art Deco facade, Hotel President Budapest combines timeless elegance with modern sophistication. The hotel’s celebrated rooftop terrace, one of the most breathtaking in the city, offers dreamlike panoramic views of the Budapest skyline, from the architectural grandeur of Parliament to the rolling silhouettes of the Buda Hills. Inside, the spaces feature warm tones and contemporary accents that create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
The rooms offer a tranquil respite from the energy of the city, with some suites offering clear views of Budapest’s most iconic landmarks. Gastronomy is another highlight, where the rooftop kitchen and bar, Intermezzo Restaurant and Café, puts a creative twist on classic Hungarian flavors, where guests can enjoy dishes prepared with local inspiration. For business travelers and event organizers, the building offers 267 m² of versatile meeting facilities, spread over three multifunctional rooms. The latest addition to Meliá’s growing European footprint, the hotel will undergo a bold evolution over the next three years, transforming into an INNSiDE by Meliá hotel, one of the group’s most dynamic lifestyle brands.
The future INNSiDE Budapest will bring its signature modern aesthetic, creative spirit, flexible social spaces and locally inspired experiences to the Hungarian market, making the hotel a contemporary hub for curious, culture-driven travelers. Commenting on the company’s entry into Hungary, Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, said: “The opening of our first hotel in Budapest is a milestone for Meliá as we continue to expand to destinations that inspire today’s travelers.
We are excited to introduce our Mediterranean hospitality to this remarkable city and look forward to launching the INNSiDE by Meliá brand in the near future. “The hotel is part of the hospitality group 1912 Hotels, which oversees a diverse portfolio of properties in key European destinations.
The group is known for its distinctive approach to delivering long-term value in every market it operates, seamlessly combining authentic local character with strong partnerships with leading international brands. Audun Lekve, CEO of 1912 Hotels, said: “The upcoming INNSiDE by Meliá conversion in Budapest represents an important step in the evolution of our portfolio.
