Meghan Markle ridiculed for still refusing to see her estranged father

Thomas Markle Jr., 59, has also urged Meghan to show compassion during Markle Sr.’s health emergency, which insiders say left him “languishing on his deathbed” before stabilizing.

He said: “My only wish is that Meghan shows some compassion to my father. He is literally fighting for his life.”

Explaining the emergency, Markle Jr. explained, “I took Dad to a hospital close to our house, and they did several scans, and the doctors said his life was in immediate danger. They took us by ambulance, with sirens blaring, to a much larger hospital in the center of the city. My father had emergency surgery.”

Thomas’ half-sister Samantha, 61, described her father’s resilience.

She said: “He is a strong man but he has been through so much. I pray he is strong enough to survive this. My father has been through two heart attacks, a stroke and an earthquake. I hope he can get through this.”

A source said of Markle: “This hospital drama has once again led to fans and commentators questioning her character.

“While she publicly promotes messages of family and compassion, her actions towards her own father show that it could all be a sham.”

Another said: “The timing of this, along with her recent Christmas special release on Netflix, has only increased the backlash against her.

“She plays happy families for the camera, but in reality this is a brutal criticism of her own father.”

The sick Thomas Sr. has repeatedly expressed a desire to reconcile with his estranged daughter and see his grandchildren, saying in 2018: “I would hate to die without talking to Meghan again.”
