“My mother is a real example as a person,” Hernandez said on “Armchair Expert.” “Someone who is moral, who takes care of her family, who is kind to people, who is respectful, who gives back her time. She’s just a beautiful person.”

Hernandez continued, “And she’s been through a lot of dark things. And she communicated that to me quite a bit. … And when you grow up like that and then something good happens to you and you feel like you’ve made it, the first thing that comes to my mind all the time, whenever I do an interview or someone asks me, all I can think is, ‘I can’t believe she’s getting to see this.'”
