Matthew Rhys stars in Apple TV horror series

Apple TV has unveiled the first look at ‘Widow’s Bay’, a new horror comedy series starring Matthew Rhys. The first three episodes of the ten-episode series will release on April 29, with new episodes premiering every Wednesday through June 17.
The show’s official logline reads: “‘Widow’s Bay’ is a quaint island town 40 miles off the coast of New England. But there’s something lurking beneath the surface. Mayor Tom Loftis (Rhys) is desperate to revitalize his struggling community. There’s no Wi-Fi, poor cell reception, and he has to contend with superstitious locals who believe their island is cursed. He wants these people to respect him. They don’t. They think he’s soft and And he But Loftis is determined to build a better future for his teenage son and turn the island into a tourist destination. Miraculously, the tourists finally come.
Other cast members include Kate O’Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Caroll and Dale Dickey.
Emmy winner Hiro Murai, known for his work as director and executive producer of shows like “Atlanta” and “The Bear,” directed five episodes of “Widow’s Bay.” Other directors on the series include Ti West, Sam Donovan and Andrew DeYoung.
Katie Dippold created “Widow’s Bay” and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Murai serves as executive producer through his Chum Films banner alongside Carver Karaszewski, Claudia Shin and Rhys. Apple Studios will produce.
