Matthew Dowd shot from MSNBC for Charlie Kirk comments

Political analyst Matthew Dowd was fired from MSNBC after his comments about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, according to a network source.

The comments led to indignation on social media and MSNBC president Rebecca Kutler gave an apology. She contradicted Dowd’s comments as “inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable.”
“We apologize for his statements, as he has,” said Kutler in a statement shared at the MSNBC Public Relations X Account. “There is no room for violence in America, politics or otherwise.”
Dowd gave his own apology for his commentary on his Extingy account. He wrote: “My apologies for my tone and words. Let me be clear, I am in no way meant for my comments to blame Kirk for this terrible attack. Let’s all come together and condemn violence.”
Kirk died on Wednesday after he was shot at a university event in Utah. He was 31 years old.
