Marriott International Signs Multi-Ownership Agreement with Masterise Group, Expands in Vietnam | News

Marriott International, Inc. announces a landmark signed agreement with Masterise Group to open four hotels, with one branded residence, in Vietnam, adding nearly 1,900 keys to the group’s nationwide portfolio and introducing Marriott’s leading luxury, premium and select hotel brands to cities across Vietnam’s key urban, economic and leisure destinations.
The flagship properties will be strategically positioned in Ho Chi Minh City. With the launch of The Ritz-Carlton, Saigon and The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Saigon is poised to set a new benchmark for luxury hospitality in Vietnam, while a pioneering eco-resort complex in Can Gio, the natural retreat close to Ho Chi Minh City, will include JW Marriott and Four Points by Sheraton hotels, in line with the district’s long-term development vision. In Hanoi, the city’s first Marriott Hotel will set the stage for authentic Vietnamese culture and large-scale events.
This multi-ownership agreement was officially signed by Gautam Bhandari, Chief Development Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International and Nelly Phuong Ta, Head of Hospitality & Entertainment, Masterise Group. Together with the 2025 launch of Masterise Hospitality & Entertainment (MHE), this agreement marks a pivotal step in Masterise Group’s expansion into hospitality and resorts and its emergence as a leader in the experiential ecosystem.
“Our partnership with Masterise Group is based on a shared vision and a long-term commitment to excellence. Together we are developing projects that we expect will be enduring icons – designed, built, managed and operated in full compliance with the stringent quality standards of Marriott International’s leading brands,” said Gautam Bhandari, Chief Development Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International. “Through this multi-property agreement, we hope to create destinations that provide memorable and meaningful experiences for both domestic and international travelers.”
Co Loa Marriott Hotel will introduce the flagship brand Marriott Hotels in Hanoi. Currently under construction next to the National Exhibition & Convention Center, eight miles from downtown, it is expected to hold 494 keys, providing an excellent option for business travelers and meeting planners. Guests can look forward to the brand’s signature Wonderful Hospitality as they stay in spacious and thoughtfully appointed rooms and suites (from 40 square meters), dine in style in four restaurants and lounges, cool off in the outdoor pool, relax in the spa and work out in the fitness center. The hotel will also feature 3,000 square meters of bright, fully connected function space and a focus on authentic Vietnamese culture, ideal for immersive events that capture the spirit of Hanoi.
JW Marriott Hotel Saigon Can Gio and Four Points by Sheraton Saigon, Can Gio are planned as part of the 2,870-hectare Can Gio Coastal Urban Tourism Area, a pioneering ecotourism destination that will attract up to nine million visitors annually to Can Gio, a lush, natural enclave that will connect Ho Chi Minh City and Long Thanh International Airport via a new highway and bridge. Upon completion, this newly built dual-brand property will offer guests the options of the world-class JW Marriott, which is rooted in luxurious holistic wellness experiences and exceptional hospitality, while Four Points by Sheraton offers a perfect blend of modern touches with genuine service.
Collectively, these separate hotels are expected to showcase a total of 780 keys, including rooms, suites, family accommodations and apartment-style apartments, plus 1,800 square feet of combined meeting space. The JW Marriott Hotel Saigon Can Gio is expected to feature five unique culinary venues, an Executive Lounge, an outdoor pool and the brand’s signature Spa by JW, while plans for Four Points by Sheraton Saigon, Can Gio include three casual dining options and two outdoor recreation zones, including a kids’ club and a children’s pool.
The Ritz-Carlton, Saigon and The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Saigon will mark the brand’s debut in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s dynamic top city. Nestled in District One, the commercial heart of Ho Chi Minh City, the property envisions a 231-room hotel and a separate tower with 420 branded residences, elevating the standard of hospitality with transformative cultural, culinary and wellness experiences.
“Through our work with Marriott International, we aim to develop iconic hotels and resorts that go beyond providing world-class accommodations and become a catalyst for local economic development, cultural preservation and enhanced travel experiences for both domestic and international visitors,” said Nelly Phuong Ta, Head of Hospitality & Entertainment, Masterise Group. “Each project will be planned with the vision to harmoniously integrate heritage and community, in line with the global shift towards cultural and experiential tourism. Our expansion into the hospitality and resort sectors represents a strategic milestone in Masterise Group’s journey to build a fully integrated real estate ecosystem, underscoring our long-term commitment to advancing Vietnam’s position as a premier global destination.”
As of Q3 2025, Marriott will have 29 properties across Vietnam, spanning 12 of its extraordinary brands and a wide range of destinations including major gateway cities, beautiful beach resorts, dynamic economic centers, rural retreats and more. With more than 30 exceptional properties in the pipeline, Marriott is carefully expanding its presence in this emerging market, offering members and guests even more inspiring options across Vietnam.
Masterise Group (MAG), one of Vietnam’s leading real estate developers, is accelerating its evolution into a multi-industrial conglomerate with strategic investments beyond its core real estate portfolio. In partnership with the government, MAG is taking on a series of historic national infrastructure projects, including the Gia Binh International Airport in Bac Ninh, the Phu My 2 Bridge and the Can Gio Bridge in Ho Chi Minh City. These developments will strengthen aviation capacity, improve urban connectivity and boost Vietnam’s long-term socio-economic growth.
