Mariska Hargitay gives rare interview about the brutal impact of my mother’s death

In 2018, Hargitay revealed how she manages to “live with loss.”

During an interview with Peopleshe said: “The way I have lived with loss is through lean into it.

“As the saying goes, the only way out is through. In my life, I’ve certainly tried to avoid pain, loss, and feeling things. But instead I’ve learned to really lean into it, because sooner or later you have to pay the piper.”

Hargitay said her experience with grief “wasn’t easy” but revealed how “on the other side, things can be so clear.”

Mansfield’s daughter described her mother as an “amazing, beautiful, glamorous sex symbol”.

“She was just so ahead of her time. She was an inspiration, she had a zest for life, and I think I share that with her.”
