Man charged with murder after reporting his three-year-old girlfriend missing
An Ohio man reported his girlfriend’s three-year-old daughter missing, claiming she disappeared with a dog while he was taking a nap — but authorities now claim he strangled the child. RadarOnline.com can reveal.
On September 12 around 9 p.m., police responded to the mobile home park residence of 29-year-old Devin O’Brien in Sandusky after O’Brien called 911, officials said.
O’Brien told emergency responders that his girlfriend’s child was nowhere to be found.
During the conversation, which was broadcast by WJWa man is heard telling the dispatcher that he “ran through our neighborhood and I can’t find her anywhere.”
The dispatcher asked, “Okay, how old is she?”
The caller said, “She’s three.”
“She’s three?” the coordinator asked.
The caller confirmed, “Yes, she is three.”
Authorities said the 911 caller who reported the missing three-year-old was O’Brien.
O’Brien claimed that both the girl and his dog must have been ‘taken’ by a ‘mindless drug man’ while he was taking a 30-minute nap.
“I have to report… I believe my girlfriend’s daughter and dog have been taken,” O’Brien said, according to police. Sandusky Registry“I took a 30 minute nap and just woke up. Nowhere. I searched our entire house.”
The Sandusky Register reported that O’Brien has reportedly suffered from mental health issues and has worked in multiple jobs since graduating from high school.
During the conversation, O’Brien allegedly said his girlfriend was working in Cleveland and that she and the girl had recently moved into his home.
He reportedly said, “I’m thinking about whether I should drive around and look. Don’t know. They just moved in with me. There’s a field near here.’
Responding officers found the 3-year-old dead near the home, officials said.
