Lyle Menendez received the same treatment of the conditional sign as his brother Honor … his bid for freedom was just refused for 3 years!
The California Board of Parole pronounced his decision on Friday after Lyle had answered hours of personal questions from different conditional commissioners and spoke a lot of his family members on his behalf.
However, this is not the end for Lyle – he will be eligible for an administrative assessment within a year and he can be moved to a hearing as soon as 18 months.
Erik’s stepdaughter Talia Both hearings destroyed … and said that her father and uncle “were set up from the inside” and she “failed”. She called the process to let the brothers relive their trauma, just to send them back to the joint, a sham. She also promised that the family would continue to fight for the couple.
During his hearing, Lyle spoke freely about the sexual abuse that he has endured through his father’s hands Jose Between the ages of 6 and 8, it forced him to force in a state of “hyperwaken” because he often “waited and did not know when something would happen.”
He described himself as the protector of his brother Erik and explained that taking care of Erik gave him a goal – and noticed that his “love for Erik was just a very furious thing” for their father, who saw him as the star child and Erik a broadcast.
He noticed that he was 13 when Jose Erik started to abuse before he explained why he himself abused his younger brother. He said he has no idea why he did that, and hypothesized that he “just tried” to release the abuse of himself.
Lyle later admitted that he felt guilty that the weapons were being used to kill his parents. Just like his brother, he pressed that the weapons were purchased for “some degree of safety” in the house, and not as murder weapons.
After he and Erik had ended the life of their parents, Lyle said that he felt “zero relief” that his father was dead, but told the board that he felt more sorrow about losing his mother because he “could not imagine harming her in any way.”
The statement against Lyle comes one day after the board shoot Erik’s conditional offer, referring to his criminal behavior – including burglaries – when they killed their parents, Pot and Jose Mendez, with shotguns in 1989.
Lyle also spoke on Friday about the aforementioned burglaries and said that he went with his brother for his second stint, simply because he did not want him to go alone.
Lyle will continue to say that his decision to use violence that day was alone of him, not the responsibility of his “Babor Brother”. Lyle concludes with: “I will never be able to make up for the damage and the sadness that I have caused everyone in my family. I am so sorry for everyone, and I am sorry forever.”

Towards the end of today’s hearing for Lyle, the audio of Erik’s hearing – recorded just the day before – leaked to the public.
The family was absolutely indignant to hear that their privacy has again become unprotected … So Lyle’s will not be heard until Lyle’s conditional lawyer, Heidi Rummelhas the possibility to submit an objection or something in court to dispute their release.
In May a judge changed their lifelong sentences Up to 50 years to life with the possibility of conditional release.
All their living family members wants to see them out of their cells … but it seems that they have to wait a little longer.
